How To Find The Version Of Your Program/Handheld

CompanionLink programs

CompanionLink:

  1. Run CompanionLink Setup.
  2. Click on the Help menu and choose About CompanionLink.
  3. Your version and build number will be listed here.

DoubleLook:
  1. Right-click the DoubleLook icon in the lower righthand corner of your computer screen by the time.
  2. Choose About DoubleLook.
  3. Your version and build number will be listed here.

DoubleNotes:
  1. Right-click the DoubleNotes icon in the lower righthand corner of your computer screen by the time.
  2. Choose About DoubleNotes.
  3. Your version and build number will be listed here.

SplitWizard:
  1. Run SplitWizard.
  2. On the lefthand side of the screen will be a number and a letter (for example, 1.0y). This is your version.


Other programs

ACT!:
  1. Open ACT!.
  2. Go to the Help menu and choose About ACT!.
  3. Your full build number, which includes the version information, will be listed in the upper righthand corner. (For example, Build 6.0.0.679) The first three characters are your version.

GoldMine:
Version/build number:
  1. Open GoldMine.
  2. Go to the Help menu and choose About.
  3. Your build number, which includes the version information, will be listed in the middle of the screen, immediately below the line that says GoldMine®.

dBase/SQL:
  1. In GoldMine, click on the File menu and choose Open Database.
  2. The line highlighted will be the open database.
  3. On the right, the entry in the Database/Location column will begin with either dBase or MSSQL.

HotSync Manager:
  1. Right-click the red and blue HotSync Manager icon in the lower righthand corner of your computer desktop by the time.
  2. Choose About.
  3. The version of HotSync Manager will be in bold text.

Lotus Notes:
  1. Open Lotus Notes.
  2. Click on the Help menu and choose About Notes.

Outlook:
  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Click on the Help menu and choose About Microsoft Outlook.
  3. The first line at the top of the page will have your version of Outlook. (For example, Microsoft® Outlook® 2000 (9.0.0.2711).) In general, the build number is unnecessary.

Outlook Express:
  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. Click on the Help menu and choose About Microsoft Outlook Express.
  3. At the top of the screen, in bold, will be the version of Outlook Express.

Palm Desktop:
  1. Open Palm Desktop.
  2. Click on Help and choose About Palm Desktop.
  3. The version number will be in the lower lefthand corner.

Note: Do NOT click on the Version button. The information here is for advanced troubleshooting only.

Handhelds

BlackBerry:
  1. Go to Options and About. (If you do not have Options, this may be under Tools or the wrench icon.)
  2. The handheld type is the first line, and the OS version is usually something like 'v4.2.0.42'.

Palm:
  1. Go to the Applications launcher.
  2. Click the Menu button.
  3. In the menu that appears, select Info.
  4. Tap on the Version box at the bottom of the screen.

Windows CE / Pocket PC operating system:

Note: This provided as a general guideline, and does not apply to all handhelds.

1. Turn on the handheld.
2. Go to Start.
3. Choose Settings.
4. Choose System.
5. Choose About.
6. Look at the Version tab.

The information you are looking for is:
- The WinCE/PPC operating system
- The processor type
