Configuration and installation
How do I configure CompanionLink to sync with my iPhone?
- Backup your data.
- Install iTunes 7.3 or higher if you have not done so already.
- Connect your handheld to iTunes and set this up to sync with Outlook.
- Connect the iPhone to the computer.
- Open iTunes.
- In the lefthand column, look for Devices.
- Under Devices, click on your iPhone.
- Information about your iPhone will appear.
- On the Summary tab, check the box for "Automatically sync when the iPhone is connected".
- On the Info tab, under Contacts, check the box for "Sync contacts from:", then select Outlook from the dropdown menu.
- On the same tab, under Calendars, check the box for "Sync contacts from:", then select Outlook from the dropdown menu.
- Install CompanionLink if you have not done so already.
- Run CompanionLink Setup.
- If you see the configuration wizard, click Next. Otherwise click on Settings (then Next if you see the user profile screen).
- Choose "Apple iPhone Thru Outlook'.
- Click Next.
- Select your contact manager, then click Configure.
- Go to the Purge And Reload tab. We recommend checking both boxes. This will delete the data from these areas of Outlook and the iPhone and reload the data from your contact manager.
- Configure any other settings you wish.
- Click OK, Next and Finish.
How do I sync?
- Connect the handheld to the computer.
- Open iTunes and make sure that this is synchronized with Outlook.
- Run CompanionLink Synchronize. (This will synchronize your contact manager with Outlook.)
- Go back to iTunes and make sure that this is synched with Outlook.
Can I sync wirelessly?
While the wireless sync is compatible with the iPhone, this sync does not sync through Outlook, but rather wirelessly with your handheld.
The setup guide for this handheld type may be found on our website at:

NOTE: In order to use the wireless sync, you must have CompanionLink Professional 3.0 installed, and you must also sign up for the wireless sync service, which costs $9.95/month. The sign-up is done within CompanionLink Professional.
