Although the importance of pages on a website will vary depending on the type of business you run, we’ve identified some pages that all websites should optimize. Here are the top five most important pages all websites should include:

Home Page

Perhaps the most important page on your website is the home page. This page is the first page your customers see. But why is it so important?

It’s quite simple really. If you do not catch their attention when they check your home page, they will be unlikely to remain on your website. And although your time limit on making an excellent first impression is longer online than in person, you’ll want to make every second count. So, how do you do this?

The best tip we can give you is to keep it simple. While putting as much information about your business as possible on this page is tempting, you must resist the urge. Instead, make it simple and enticing. Think of it as the first step in the customer journey, not the final one. It should guide them to the next step or the call to action.

About Us Page

Almost everyone, including customers, investors, and potential employees, will check out your About Us page to learn about your business. Your About Us page should include the following:

  1. A brief history of the company – talk about how the business started and how it has evolved.
  2. Your mission or vision statement.
  3. Leadership bios.
  4. Client testimonials.

All of these things help potential customers get a feel for your business and what you offer.

Blog Page

Most business owners know blogging is one of the best ways to optimize a website, which is why many businesses do it. Blogs can be used to connect with your audience on a deeper level, convert traffic into leads, increase brand awareness, and lay the framework for long-term business growth.

Contact Us Page

This page serves as the lead driver for the website. It is the page that helps make businesses money. Whether you include a contact us form, a phone number, or an email address, this is where customers decide to get hold of you for more information or help.

Vacancies Page

Ok, so if your team of employees is complete, you might not think this is an important page, but it is. Even if you’re not hiring, having this page on your website is worth it, as it shows customers that your employees are content in their roles. And if you are looking for employees, it is a fantastic way to find them.

This page should discuss a range of things, including your available vacancies and why they should choose you as an employer. For example, you can discuss pay and the benefits you offer, such as OTC benefit solutions or extra holiday entitlement.

Although each page is essential on a website, the ones listed above are the most important. These are the pages that allow customers to find out about your business and contact you should they wish to. Make sure your website includes all of them.
