Most of the tech news today is focused on Apple’s announcement of the new iPhone 5. The new device is stunning and we’re just as excited as you to get our hands on one. Get Microsoft Outlook Categories On Your iOS & Android Device

As many Outlook users will tell you, categories play an important role in keeping everything organized. Categorizing your contacts, calendars, notes, & tasks helps you to break them down into manageable groups of information. Color-coding this information further helps by giving you the ability to interpret data at a glance. For example, I use yellow to signify a business call. I use red to denote a mission critical appointment. I use blue for business meetings, and green for personal meetings. Just by glancing at the color of an appointment, I know what it’s for.

Business people rely on similar systems every day to be productive. However, another thing many Outlook users will tell you is that they have not found a great way to sync categories to the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, & Android devices.

This is a major concern for many people. The ability to categorize data efficiently becomes severely limited when it is only accessible at the computer. We are a mobile society, and we need our information available at a glance if we are to stay productive on the go. Therefore, the ability to sync Outlook categories is not just convenient for most users, it’s quite important!

Welcome To The iPhone, Verizon

Today is the day that many Verizon customers have been waiting for. The Apple iPhone officially went on sale for pre-order on the Verizon network at 3am EST today. While the iPhone has been available for a few years, today marks the first day that US customers have a service option other than AT&T.

As a happy iPhone user myself, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to the many Verizon customers who will soon be getting their first iPhone. One of the first things you’ll likely be doing is heading in to the App Store to start downloading apps. As you’ll soon discover, there are many great apps to install. Apple iOS 4 to introduce 1500 new developer features

During Apple’s recent keynote event, Steve Jobs announced the newest version of the iPhone’s operating system, dubbed iOS 4. The new iOS 4 will add some hotly-anticipated features to the iPhone, such as application multitasking. In addition to new user features, iOS 4 opens a whole slew of new APIs for developers to use in their applications.

DejaOffice is our super-charged suite of contacts, calendar, tasks and notes apps for iPhone. The new iOS 4 will allow us to introduce new features that haven’t been possible in previous versions of the mobile operating system. We are especially excited about the new calendar APIs. CompanionLink offers ACT! to iPhone wireless sync service

ACT! by Sage users who also own an iPhone can use both technologies as part of their business workflow. CompanionLink offers ACT! to iPhone synchronization that allows for two-way wireless transfer of ACT! contacts, activities, to-dos, notes, histories and opportunities. CompanionLink also allows ACT! users to link activities and notes to contacts for optimal organization of business data between ACT! and iPhone.

CompanionLink offers two ways to synchronize data between ACT! and iPhone – wired USB sync and wireless sync. Wired USB sync transfers contacts and calendar data between ACT! and iPhone using Outlook and iTunes. Wireless sync between ACT! and iPhone can be configured in one of two methods – sync via Google or sync via CompanionLink’s wireless sync service. iPhone continues push into the business community

Small businesses are increasingly switching to the iPhone from other types of devices like BlackBerry, Palm and Windows Mobile. While larger organizations have a harder time (understandably) switching infrastructure, smaller companies are making the move to add the iPhone to their business arsenal.
