Auto Sync Troubleshooting
Auto Sync is best suited for syncs with DejaCloud, Google or Database to Database within the same PC. If you are seeing issues with Auto Sync not triggering please check the following guide.
Auto Sync on Android
Android Auto Sync issues are typically related the Android Battery Monitor closing the app in the background. Auto Sync can also not occur if the Phone has been restarted fully and DejaOffice has not been opened once after the restart. Verify these items to ensure Auto Sync is working optimally:
Check the Android Battery Monitor:
Samsung Devices (OS 12 and Higher):
- Open Android Settings > Tap "Apps" > and select "DejaOffice".
- Tap "Battery" or "App Battery Usage".
- Change the option to "Unrestricted".

Verify Auto Sync is Enabled:
- Open the DejaOffice App.
- Tap Settings, tap Sync Settings and select DejaCloud Settings.
- Ensure the Auto Sync is set to "Push Sync".
Verify Sync is set to Two Ways:
- Open the DejaOffice App.
- Tap Settings, tap Sync Settings and select DejaCloud Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and ensure All Data Types are set to "Two Ways".
Auto Sync on iPhone
iPhone is a much more restricted operating system. When you leave the DejaOffice app, Apple will close it after ~15 seconds or so of it being in the background. When you launch the app again, it will check for updates. Here are a few things you can validate:
Verify Auto Sync is Enabled:
- Open the DejaOffice App.
- Tap Settings and tap Sync Settings.
- Ensure the Auto Sync is set to "Real Time".
Verify Sync is set to Two Ways:
- Open the DejaOffice App.
- Tap Settings, tap Sync Settings and select DejaCloud Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and ensure All Data Types are set to "Two Ways".
Auto Sync in CompanionLink (PC)
The Push Sync on the PC waits for about 7 seconds of no mouse movement to trigger a sync when changes on the PC are made. CompanionLink must also be running in the System tray for Auto Sync to work. Here are a few things to check on the PC:
Verify Auto Sync is Enabled:
- Open the CompanionLink Setup.
- Select Settings on the left and Advanced Settings in the bottom left.
- Click the Advanced Settings tab at the top.
- Ensure the Auto Sync is set to "Realtime" and "Always Synchronize".
Verify Sync is set to Two Ways:
- Open the CompanionLink Setup.
- Select Settings on the left and Advanced Settings in the bottom left.
- Click the Applications tab at the top.
- Ensure each data type is set to "Sync Both Ways" and Deletion Preferences are set to "Records Deleted in Either will be Synced.
Ensure CompanionLink is set to Run at Startup:
- Open the CompanionLink Setup.
- Select Settings on the left and Advanced Settings in the bottom left.
- Select the General Tab at the top.
- Ensure that "Run at Start" is enabled.
- Note: You can also verify this in the Task manager. On the PC, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete on the keyboard and select Task Manager if asked. At the top select the Startup Tab (if you don't see a Startup Tab, in the bottom left select "More Details"). In the Startup Tab's list make sure CompanionLink appears and is "Enabled".
Check if the Sync is Paused:
If the Auto sync fails several times it can be come Paused. Typically it will try again after a while, but to check this:
- Check the System Tray of Windows for the CompanionLink Icon (If you don't see it, click the Up arrow next to the Clock).
- Find the Two Arrows, if this is Grey the sync is paused, right click and select "Resume".
- Note: You can also check this by opening CompanionLink Setup, pressing Ctrl + Shift + U and checking if the "Paused" option is enabled. If so uncheck it and click Ok.
Auto Sync in DejaOffice PC
When using DejaOffice PC CRM, the sync is handled by CompanionLink and the CRM aspects are handled by DejaOffice PC CRM.
The Push Sync on the PC waits for about 7 seconds of no mouse movement to trigger a sync when changes on the PC are made. CompanionLink must also be running in the System tray for Auto Sync to work. Here are a few things to check on the PC:
Verify Auto Sync is Enabled:
- Open DejaOffice PC CRM.
- Select Settings in the bottom left and Sync Settings towards the bottom.
- Click the appropriate Settings (either PC Data Source or Mobile Phone or Tablet).
- Click the Advanced Settings tab
- Ensure the Auto Sync is set to "Push Sync" and "Always Synchronize".
Verify Sync is set to Two Ways:
- Open DejaOffice PC CRM.
- Select Settings in the bottom left and Sync Settings towards the bottom.
- Click the appropriate Settings (either PC Data Source or Mobile Phone or Tablet).
- Click the Applications tab at the top.
- Ensure each data type is set to "Sync Both Ways" and Deletion Preferences are set to "Records Deleted in Either will be Synced.
