CompanionLink has recently upgraded the encryption method used for securing passwords in our software. For customers who have purchased or upgraded to version 6 of our software your encryption will automatically update to the new AES 256 bit encryption method. Customers using any of our previous versions pf CompanionLink will still be using the 64 bit password encryption system.

Please note that if at any time you wish to downgrade from version 6 to an earlier installment your passwords will not be carried over and will have to be re-entered. This will be indicated by a blank password field when accessing your database settings page in CompanionLink. Once passwords are re-entered they will be encrypted via the old 64 bit method.
