How to Complete Multiple Activities

ACT! 6.0 to 3.0

  1. Open Act.
  2. Go to the View menu.
  3. Click on Task List.
  4. At the top of the screen will be a button with the word Filter. This should have a down arrow next to it. If this arrow points right, then click on the button to expand the Filter list.
  5. Under Types To Show, click all of the types you wish to complete.
  6. Under Priorities To Show, click all of the priorities you wish to complete.
  7. Under Dates To Show, choose Past Dates.
  8. Make sure that Show Only Timeless and Showed Cleared Activities are unchecked.
  9. A list of past activities should be displayed below.
  10. To the left of the first activity should be a grey box. Left-click on this.
  11. Scroll down to the last activity in the list.
  12. Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and left-click on the last activity.
  13. Right-click the selected activities.
  14. Click on Clear Multiple Activities.
  15. Click on Completed.
  16. Click OK.
  17. This will leave the recurring activities in the list. Recurring activities must be erased, one by one, and cannot be cleared.

ACT! 2005 and higher

  1. Open Act.
  2. Go to the View menu.
  3. Click on Task List.
  4. At the top of the screen, set Dates to Past.
  5. Under Types, click all of the types you wish to complete.
  6. Under Priorities, click all of the priorities you wish to complete.
  7. At the top right, there will be a dropdown menu for Options.
  8. Make sure that Show Only Timeless and Showed Cleared Activities are unchecked.
  9. A list of past activities should be displayed below.
  10. Click on the first activity in the list.
  11. Scroll down to the last activity in the list.
  12. Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and left-click on the last activity.
  13. Right-click the selected activities.
  14. Click on Clear Multiple Activities.
  15. Click on Completed.
  16. Click OK.
  17. This will leave the recurring activities in the list. Recurring activities must be erased, one by one, and cannot be cleared.

GoldMine

  1. Open GoldMine.
  2. Go to the View menu.
  3. Click on Activity List.
  4. Click on the Open tab. This is the list of active calendar entries.
  5. Right-click anywhere in this window.
  6. Click on Options.
  7. Click on Auto-Update.
  8. Put a checkmark next to Complete Select Activity Types Only.
  9. Check all of the applicable boxes.
  10. Include a date range for the activities you wish to complete. (Recommended: 1/1/1900 to yesterday's date)
  11. At the top, you may add a result code and a success option, if you wish. This step is optional.
  12. Click OK. This will automatically complete all of the activities with these types in this date range.
