How to Turn Off Windows 10 Updates Permanently

Windows 10 updates are rarely helpful and often destructive. Currently there are no visible settings to disable the Windows 10 Automatic Updates, only delay them. Check below for a workaround to disable Windows 10 Updates.

Disable Windows 10 Automatic Updates:

  1. Click Here to download the zip file that contains the Reg Key.
  2. Once downloaded, double click the zip file, and double click .Reg file within it.
  3. Click "Yes" on the User Account Control popup and "Yes" again on the Registry Editor prompt.


You should see a message about the Key has been successfully added to the Registry. Restart the PC and Windows 10 will not automatically update.

  • Note: If you want to undo this at any point in the future Click Here to download a second key which disables the settings from the first.
