Run CompanionLink as Administrator
From CompanionLink Support
Running CompanionLink as Administrator can allow the program to write registry keys that are locked out. You should only need to do this once. Once the registry keys are set, you may run CompanionLink normally.
Run CompanionLink in Administrator Mode Once
Before running CompanionLink as Administrator, please close Outlook, Act! or any other associated program.
- Right click on the CompanionLink icon on the Desktop.
- Click "Run as Administrator".
Click "Allow" on the User Account Control Popup.
Always run CompanionLink in Administrator Mode
To always run CompanionLink in the Administrator mode, use the following steps. You would only need to do this if your Database (Palm, Act!, etc) is also always running in this elevated permission level.
- Right click on the CompanionLink icon on the Desktop.
- Click Properties and select the Compatibility Tab in the menu that opens.
- Under Settings, put a check in the "Run as Administrator" box.
- Click Apply and ok.
Click "Allow" on the User Account Control Popup.
