Synchronization failed

Symptom:
- Using a Verizon Treo 650, 680 or 700p.
- Error message in the HotSync log for the Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and/or Memos conduits, "Synchronization failed".
- Wireless Sync application installed on the handheld.
Explanation:
The Wireless Sync application also syncs information with the handheld. By default, it disables the ability to synchronize with the HotSync Manager. This prevents the handheld from synching to Palm Desktop. In order for CompanionLink to work, the handheld must be able to sync data without error to/from the Palm Desktop.
Fix:
Treo 650
- Turn on your Treo 650.
- Tap on the Wireless Sync application.
- Press Menu.
- From the Setup menu, select Connection Settings.
- Select the Advanced button.
- Check the box for 'Enable other sync apps'.
- Select OK, then OK again.
NOTE: This may cause duplicates. Please back up your data before synchronizing.
Treo 680/700p
- On the handheld, go to the Wireless Sync application.
- Go to Settings.
- Go to Connection.
- Go to Advanced.
- Put a checkmark next to Enable Other Sync Apps.
- Tap OK twice.
- Go to What To Sync.
- Uncheck Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Memos.
- Tap OK or Done.
